The Food Pyramid and You

Click on the links below to learn more about the Food Pyramid and how it can help you have a healthy diet.
If you want a copy of the Nutrition Worksheet to write you answers Click Here! (This is a PDF file.)

There are many things to do at The Pyramid Cafe.

1. First you should Tour the Food Guide Pyramid to find out what nutrients your body needs from each type of food. How much of each category of food you should eat each day, and what are the foods that are in that category. Click on the link at the right side of the window.
2. Next, look at Winning Combinations and How Much Should You Eat, to find out how many different food groups can all be in one food, and to learn which food group you should have more of after you turn 9 years old.
3. Finally, you want to go to Little D's Picnic Adventure and see if you can match the items from the correct food groups.

The next site to visit is called Nutrition for Kids, and guess what! This site was made by 3 boys names Kris, Nick and Anthony, just like you.

4. The first thing you want to do here is click on the link for Foods You Should Eat and find out about some really, really good-for-you foods.
5. Next check out their sample Menus, to see how easy and delicious it is to eat well balanced meals.
6. Now try taking the
Nutrition Quiz to see how much you've learned. Did you get #4 right? I thought that one was pretty hard!
